Aperture Cards |
- Back To Microfilm |
| Aperture Cards hold a single 35mm negative. The card itself is only a frame which holds this negative and the size of this frame is about 183mm X 83mm. The card may sometimes be punched with holes called Hollerith code containing information like drawing size, drawing number, revision number etc. Aperture Cards are normally used to record images of drawings, ranging from A4 to A0 sizes.
With our true scale state-of-the-art scanners we can scan Aperture cards to give image files of the same size as the original drawing. Therefore an Aperture card containing an A0 drawings will be scanned to give an A0 size image of up to 600 dpi resolution, thus assuring that even the smallest of details is captured and recorded (Unlike us, most of the other Aperture cards scanners scale down the size of larger drawings to a maximum of A3 size and thus compromise on the quality of output). We can capture all information automatically from the Hollerith code on each Aperture card, thus saving you time as well as money. Even though we have the fastest scanner in the market, we scan all Aperture card individually to make sure that you get the best possible result even with poor quality images. Post Scanning Process All scanned images are despeckled, deskewed and cropped at no extra cost. Files can be renamed as per drawing/record number or on any other field. Database – Multiple field customised database can also be created, for convenience of searching, sorting and retrieving the required file(s). For working procedure click here. Roll Film – 16mm and 35mm |
- Back To Microfilm |
| Roll films and Cartridges exist in 16mm or 35mm sizes. Each roll of film could either be stored as a roll or be converted to a microfilm cartridge. The number of images on each roll can vary from roughly 500 to 4,000 plus images, depending on the length of the roll negative.
We can scan both 16mm and 35mm sizes in roll film as well as cartridges. With resolution of up to 600 dpi our scanned images are of a very high quality. With high speed scanners we can scan thousands of images each day, so that whatever your project size, you can be sure that project will be completed in the shortest possible time. Post Scanning Process All scanned images are despeckled, deskewed and cropped. Files can be renamed as per drawing/record number or on any other field. Files can also be named in sequential order. The structure in which the rolls are stored can also be replicated in the directory structure for saving the files. We can also put prefixes in file names to reflect their location etc. This structure is decided after discussions with the client. This structure is provided at no extra cost as long as the files are named in a sequential manner. Database – Multiple field customised database can also be created, for convenience of searching, sorting and retrieving the required file(s). For working procedure click here. Microfiche |
- Back To Microfilm |
| A Fiche is a large film black and white negative of about 148 mm x 104 mm size. It may stores 6 images of a similar size to a 35mm negative or up to 60 smaller images. They can also have a mixture of the image sizes.
A Microfiche contain images from around 60 to over 250 per card. The images are generally A4 page size or smaller pages. Jackets are cellophane holders of size similar to a Fiche, in which strips of negatives are inserted. Jackets which hold negatives of different sizes are called Combi-Jackets. We can scan all types of Fiche, Microfiche, Jackets and Combi-Jackets at resolution of up to 600 dpi to give high quality images. Depending on your needs we can create single or multiple page image files. Post Scanning Process All scanned images are despeckled, deskewed and cropped. Files can be renamed as per document/record number or on any other field. Database – Multiple field customised database can also be created, for convenience of searching, sorting and retrieving the required file(s). For working procedure click here.
